Homemade Donuts from Can Biscuits

Today was another freeze day for Texas. Everyone slept in but I woke early to make breakfast. The best memories for me as a kid was when my parents worked in the kitchen together. One thing they made for us girls was homemade donuts fried covered in powder sugar. This is something I haven’t made for my family yet so today I attempted to do just that.

Lay out the raw biscuits on a cutting board and with a 1 1/2-inch round cookie or biscuit cutter, (* I used a glass–a drinking glass we use for orange juice) cut out a hole from the middle of each raw biscuit. Fry them in the oil until golden and then flip with tongs to fry the other side. You can even fry the donut holes. (which are my favorite part)
